[Guilin Daily] (Reporter Sun Min) On February 21, the first Guilin Diamond Industry Development Forum was held in Guilin. Guests and experts from enterprises, banks, universities and government departments gathered in Guilin to offer suggestions for the development of Guilin’s diamond industry and superhard material industry. On the same day, the Guilin super hard material Association was also inaugurated. Municipal Committee, United Front Work Department Minister Jiang Yuliang attended the event.
Superhard materials mainly refer to diamond and cubic boron nitride, as well as the composite materials with the two materials as the main components of the general term of ultra-high hardness materials. Diamond and cubic boron nitride have excellent properties such as high hardness, good wear resistance and heat conductivity, low thermal expansion coefficient, and complementary advantages when applied in related fields. Superhard materials and products are widely used in building materials, construction, machinery, electronics, geological drilling, oil exploitation, optical instruments, aerospace and other fields. The development of superhard materials in Guilin is based on technology, talent and culture. The holding of the first Guilin Diamond Industry Development Forum and the establishment of Guilin Superhard Materials Association will further promote the better and faster development of Guilin’s superhard materials industry and provide support for Guilin’s promotion of industrial revitalization and high-quality development.
On the same day, the forum focused on the topics of “Development status and trend of Guangxi Superhard materials industry”, “Analysis of hot spots in the development of domestic and foreign superhard materials industry” and “high-quality development approaches of superhard materials and products”.

The Guilin Superhard Materials Association was also established on the same day, under the attendance of Municipal Committee, United Front Work Department Minister Jiang Yuliang.
